Quick Fitness Tips: Lunges

Adjusting to Workouts after Bariatric Surgery in Plano

After getting gastric band in Plano it is important to begin incorporating more exercise into your daily routine. However, this can be complicated for many people. Between busy work schedules and family obligations, the motive to head to the gym for an hour may be there, but the clock doesn’t always seem to participate.

Lunges are a quick and easy activity that you can incorporate into your daily routine without having to change your entire schedule.

To do lunges, find a hallway in your home or office that is clear of furniture and other obstacles. Spread your feet shoulder width apart and with your back held straight, take a step with your left food. Bend your left knee until it reaches a 90-degree angle. As you bend your left leg, your other leg will extend until your right knee gently reaches the ground. Hold this position for about five to 10 seconds before returning to an upright position, and then repeat with the other leg.

For a quick and effective workout, try doing 10 to 20 repetitions of this exercise, alternating legs as you lunge down your hallway. Lunges are a great lower body workout. They can tone your thighs and glutes, and can also enhance blood flow, making them a good component of a cardiovascular routine.

So, next time you find yourself traveling back and forth from room to room, take a moment and start lunging instead of walking. By incorporating this simple exercise into your regular routines throughout the day you can start to get small bursts of physical activity without missing a step!
