Our insurance experts are well versed in working with most major insurance companies.

And even if you don’t qualify for coverage, we have great connections with reputable financing companies who have been very helpful in working with our patients in the past. Don’t let cost be a barrier to getting much-needed bariatric surgery! We can help.

How will I know if I qualify for bariatric surgery?

To be considered a candidate for surgical weight loss, you must have failed in at least one valid attempt at medical weight loss treatment. You will also typically have one or more of the following scenarios:

What is BMI?

BMI or Body Mass Index is calculated using a person’s weight and height and is an indicator used globally to indicate the level of obesity in a person. The higher the BMI, the higher the level of obesity, which leads to a lower life expectancy.

What if I qualify but my insurance company still denies coverage?

Even if you are denied coverage by your insurance carrier, there is an appeals process, and we can help guide you through it. As long as you meet the above-mentioned criteria, most insurance companies will cover bariatric surgery. You may just have to jump through a few hoops. Fortunately, we know which hoops!

Do you have other weight loss options besides surgery?

Yes! We know that bariatric surgery isn’t right for everyone. We have a range of non-surgical weight loss tools, including weight loss medication and nutritional counseling.

Do you have a dietitian/nutritionist on staff?

Yes! Our registered dietitian works with our patients to ensure they are equipped with all the information and tools they need to be successful for a lifetime.

How soon can I schedule my bariatric surgery?

Once you’ve had your consultation and medical exam, been deemed a good candidate for bariatric surgery by one of our surgeons and have insurance approval, you typically can have your surgery within a few weeks (depending on our surgeons’ schedules).
