Steps to Self Esteem

You are an amazing, beautiful person that has chosen a special journey using surgical weight loss to achieve a healthy life. If you’re still having trouble feeling like the beautiful butterfly even though you know you look like one on the outside, here are some tips.

Hug Yourself – It might feel a little silly, but wrapping your arms around you and hugging yourself will make you feel good. It is a way for you to give yourself some much needed self-love.

Smile at Yourself – Look yourself in the eyes in the mirror and smile. It will be difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it move up to some positive self-talk and say, ‘I love you and you’re worth it.’ While it can be tough to look yourself in the eyes and talk to yourself, the results will be a stronger connection to your inner feelings of love and self-worth.

No matter what technique you use to help you feel better about who you are, it is important to do something. Losing weight is not going to fix everything you don’t like about yourself, but getting to the bottom of your feelings is a great start to leading a life where you truly love yourself and are happy with who you are, every day.
