Weight Loss Specialists of North Texas was founded by Dr. Daryl Stewart – a giant of bariatric surgery in the state of Texas.
Dr. Stewart was a native of Denton, Texas and attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. After completing his surgical residency at Akron General Medical Center in Ohio, Dr. Stewart went into practice with a group of surgeons in Little Rock, Arkansas. Ten years later he decided to move home to Texas in order to be closer to his family.
His patient care was influenced by strong Christian values and his desire to help patients to lead happier, healthier and more productive lives. Dr. Stewart was a very active Bariatric Surgeon from 1997 until his sudden and unexpected death in July of 2013. He is survived by his wife and three children. His legacy lives on through the work of his partner, Dr. Ayoola, and the staff at the Weight Loss Specialists of North Texas.
